Even though we’ve got a good three months until its launch, the iPhone 8 is a regular feature of the rumor mill. Apple’s got a lot riding on the smartphone this year, as market interest in the iPhone continues to decline. There haven’t been many design changes in the lineup over the past couple of years. And for a company like Apple that’s built its entire portfolio on the mantra of design, it isn’t a good sign. The iPhone 8 will change things, at least according to the rumor mill. Today, we’ve got a mockup video for you, based on earlier leaks. It provides a good look at what might surface later this year. Take a look below to find out more.

The big change for this year’s iPhone will be its design. Samsung has set the bar sky high with the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The devices are absolute stunners when it comes to aesthetics. The Korean tech giant’s display prowess is clearly visible this year, and Apple’s got a lot of catching up to do. According to the rumor mill, Cupertino’s moving in the right direction. Rumors claim that Apple’s put forward some very stringent requirements for its screen for the iPhone 8.

Not only does Apple want more screen to body area with the iPhone, it also wants higher quality. This has contributed to rumors which surfaced earlier this year that Samsung is facing problems for the iPhone’s display supply. In addition to its display, the iPhone 8 will also feature a virtual fingerprint sensor suggest rumors. This will make for a seamless front design, a semblance to which you can view below.

The edge to edge display for the iPhone 8 will increase the device’s screen real estate. This won’t contribute to a larger device size, which is the greatest thing about it. Furthermore, aluminium will make a likely exit as build material this year. Following in Android’s footsteps, Apple will also equip the iPhone 8 with wireless charging. This will require a shift towards either glass or ceramic as the smartphone’s primary material, for obvious reasons.
Finally, a big, big change for the iPhone 8 will be its dual camera setup. As you can see in the video above, and as a lot of leaks suggest, the smartphone will feature a vertical dual camera setup. The reason behind this won’t be aesthetics. Rather, Apple will focus more on VR and 3D recording. Tilt the smartphone in landscape mode and the camera setup becomes horizontal, making for easier 3D recording. Thoughts? Let us ,know what you think in the comments section below and stay tuned.
