12v71 powered Peterbilt 359 with straight pipes! LOUD!
This is a friend of ours peterbilt that i got to ride in. It's a 1975 Peterbilt 359 and it's powered with a 12v-71N non turbo and a RTO-12513 tranny and has 5:29 rear ends.. This has 6" straight stacks on it. Yes, it has true dual stacks on it, no Y-Pipe.

straight piped 12v71 pete going to truck show loaded!
Here's what the 75 pete sounds like with dual 6" straight stacks loaded with the 12v71N. It was soo loud with a load on, driving behind it on the freeway was loud. The guy driving wore ear plugs on the trip. We passed like 4 cops and they didn't bother. It turns 2600 rpms and has N90 injectors in it

Detroit Diesel 12v71 Start At OTC

fired up the 12V71 to make sure it ran alright. Its an old dry block engine that originally powered a genset i believe but is now going to replace the deck engine on a drilling rig. running about 1650rpm here...sounded friggin awesome. LOUD, hence the excessive distortion :)
